ARTIST BIO

Carole Silverstein is an acclaimed Los Angeles-based artist known for her extravagant and multicultural paintings, collage works, and prints that explore connections between different cultures and juxtapose divergent systems. Her recent exhibitions have been shown at Nancy Toomey Fine Art, San Francisco; Gallery 169, Santa Monica; and CMay Gallery, Los Angeles, with a notable presence at the 56th Venice Biennale in Italy. Her artworks are held in esteemed permanent collections including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Citibank, and the US Embassy in Djibouti, as well as in notable private collections such as the Laura Dern Collection and the Salser Collection. Silverstein holds an MFA from Queens College, CUNY, and a BFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, with additional study at the International School of Art in Montecastello di Vibio, Italy.
