ARTIST BIO

Jen P. Harris (she/they) is a queer, settler-descended artist working with painting, drawing, textiles, and installation. Her work deconstructs Western cultural myths through material interventions into image-based source material, creating perceptual experiences that evoke speculative, multidimensional realities beyond master narratives rooted in colonialism. Harris holds a BA in art from Yale and an MFA from Queens College of the City University of New York. She has shown her work widely, presenting solo exhibitions at Edgar Gallery (Los Angeles, CA); Leslie-Lohman Museum and Daniel Cooney Fine Art (New York, NY); Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (Wilmington); Rockland Center for the Arts (West Nyack, NY); John Davis Gallery (Hudson, NY); and CSPS Hall (Cedar Rapids, IA). Harris is the recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Painting and grants from the Puffin Foundation, Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, and Women’s Studio Workshop, among others.
