ARTIST BIO

Liv Aanrud is a Los Angeles-based textile artist. Her artwork is at once a woven drawing, a fabric painting, and a tactile map of the labor of its making. She mines the vast potential in ordinary materials to create a unique vision that is clearly contemporary and deeply rooted in a folk tradition.

Aanrud’s work has been the subject of one person exhibitions at Bozo Mag, New Image Art, Arvia, 1700 Naud and TSA-LA in Los Angeles. She has also had shows at Finlandia University, Hancock MI, Sierra Nevada College, Lake Tahoe, Pamela Salisbury and John Davis Gallery, Hudson, NY, Oasis Gallery, Marquette, MI and Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects, in New York City.

Her work has been shown in group exhibitions across the U.S., Taiwan, Germany, and Spain.
